Dear friends,
 
The Community Singers will begin a new choir year at First Unitarian on September 4 at 7 p.m. I hope you will consider joining us, whether you are a long-time member or a newbie. All are welcome! 
 
I am happy to be back in the saddle as Director, and I am also happy that Community Singers will continue to work occasionally with our wonderful musical collaborators, Deryck, Lee, and Lourdes, in the coming months.
 
We will perform at First Unitarian on Sunday mornings, September 8, September 22, October 13, and at later dates in the year TBA. 
 
Community performances will include:
*UU Pgh Cluster Choir, November 16-17 @North Hills UU & Allegheny UU 
*Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Tues, Nov 26 @ First UU
*Coro Latinamericano Holiday Concert on Dec 15 @ First UU.
 
And coming right up, we will be singing at the memorial celebration for Whitney Granger, the late husband of our own Mary Redford, on Saturday, September 14, at 4 p.m.
 
Community Singers are doing wonderful and fun things, and we need the participation of music-loving individuals like you. Participants are encouraged to rehearse and perform as much as they can, and some of you will thrive if you dedicate yourself to our full schedule. But if you are concerned with being too busy, just participate when you can—you are not required to participate in all of our performances or attend all of our rehearsals. I am very flexible and welcoming!
