Wherever members of the African diaspora have gone, our spiritual traditions have survived and thrived! An eclectic approach to reclaiming Black spiritual traditions is exactly how our ancestors have kept those traditions alive against all odds. In this multi-generational service, we will celebrate and explore the liberating power of intentional spiritual eclecticism in reclaiming those traditions that have not been passed on directly, yet are directly connected to our varied heritage and identities.
Lighters for the 7 candles of the kinara during the service are invited! If interested, please contact Erica Shadowsong. Anyone may light the candles; children and youth especially welcome!
