Our congregation has been in partnership with the Unitarian-run Annie Margaret Barr Higher Secondary School in the rural village of Kharang in the Khasi Hills of North East India since 2003.
Our financial goal continues to be to support the two additional teachers that were needed following the inauguration of the new high school in June 2016 that we helped build. We’ve raised $9,600 for two teachers’ salaries ($4,800 each) in the last four years, doing so until government funding kicks in after accreditation. This school enables students to complete high school locally rather than traveling to the state capital.
Our financial support gives emotional support to our faith friends who also inspire us with their hard work and accomplishments. We make a concrete difference together in children’s lives!
