DeWitt Walton, Vice President of the A. Philip Randolph Institute, Pittsburgh and Director of the APRI educational program.
DeWitt Walton, a Mississippi native raised in Gary, Indiana, has dedicated his life to labor rights and community development. Beginning his career at Inland Steel in 1976, he later became a United Steelworkers (USW) Organizer, eventually moving to Pittsburgh in 1995. As Vice President of Pittsburgh APRI and Program Director of Breaking the Chains of Poverty, he has played a vital role in workforce development, empowering countless individuals. A proud Hill District resident, DeWitt
also serves on the Allegheny County Council, advocating for economic development, public safety, and housing in communities across the region.
A reception and an opportunity for questions and discussion will follow Mr. Walton’s
