Earth Religion-centered members and friends of the First Unitarian Church will host a ceremony to observe and celebrate the holiday Samhain (Saa-wn). This is an old European holiday that celebrates the dead and our ancestors and honors the gift of life. Some refreshments will be served afterward. Please bring a poem or prayer to share. If you have a photo of a departed loved one (this includes pets) that you want to place on the Samhain altar, please bring it. There will be an interfaith sharing period and a short meditation—candles lighting ceremony in the garden.
