At First Unitarian, worship is an experience we create together―not in adoration of a god, but rather a celebration of awe, wonder, and the sacred. We hold one another in mutual embrace through the many ways in which we connect with one another here. We collectively act for justice in ways large and small. We commit to lifelong learning and spiritual practice that enriches our lives and those around us.
- Our Sunday morning worship celebrations typically include hymns, one or more readings, music, a sermon, an offering, and a prayer or meditation.
- Religious education classes for children and youth take place at the same time as our worship celebrations. Children are invited to stay for the first part of our worship services and then attend age-appropriate classes.
- The “cuddle room” for folks with fussy infants is located at the rear of the Sanctuary, adjacent to the elevator. There is a loudspeaker in the room so that you and your child can continue to hear the service.
- We host refreshments and conversation after services in the Undercroft Gallery on the lower level. Please join us. All are welcome.
- Some people dress more formally; others dress more casually. All are welcome.
- We recognize that human diversity is both a fact of life and an intentional achievement for a religious community or any other organization. All are welcome.
- Whatever your race, culture, or place in society, there is a place for you here in our diverse religious community. Come into our embrace, whomever you are. All are welcome.
