This Sunday

“Plate Tectonics 101”

Livestreamed  at 10:30 am In just a few weeks, our coming-of-age group will be presenting their credos to the congregation. Today, intern minister Mac Perkins-High will do the same, offering an account of their theology alongside a small lesson in the geology of our beautiful planet.

Our April Share the Plate is The Afro-American Music Institute

The Afro-American Music Institute,  located at 7131 Hamilton Avenue, has provided musical programs of excellence since 1982.  Under the guidance and tutelage of James and Pamela Johnson, the institute offers specialized instrumental and vocal training in all styles of African American music for all age groups.  A special emphasis is put on programming for children and young adults.  There are music classes and ensembles including a boys’ choir.    https://afroamericanmusic.org/

Capital Campaign Launch: Warming Our Welcome, Brightening Our Future

We’ve launched an exciting campaign to make our church more welcoming, accessible, and sustainable. Planned improvements include energy-efficient heating and cooling, upgraded lighting and sound, a modern video system, outdoor enhancements, and a long-term endowment. We invite every member to attend a small group meeting to learn more and get involved. Learn more.

We Need You! Small Group Sessions Are Underway

Our Warming Our Welcome, Brightening Our Future campaign is about building the future of our church—together. That’s why we’re asking every member and friend of the church to attend a small group discussion. These one-hour gatherings are relaxed, welcoming, and essential to our shared effort. You’ll learn more about the campaign, ask questions, and hear how we can create a church that better reflects our values of welcome, accessibility, and sustainability. You won’t be asked to pledge during the meeting—but we hope you’ll be inspired to afterward. If you haven’t signed up yet, please don’t wait. Your participation is vital. Sign up for a small group session now.
