Our January Share the Plate is Breaking the Chains of Poverty
Breaking the chains of poverty is a career training program administered by the APRI, Pittsburgh Chapter (A. Philip Randolph Institute’s Pittsburgh Chapter) and facilitated in partnership with United Steelworkers, with the goal of promoting living wage careers and union membership for the minority community. The program is designed to help participants build the skills necessary to obtain a family-sustaining career in the local building and construction trade unions, manufacturing industry, and emerging energy sector.
New UU Statement of Values
After a democratic process involving thousands of Unitarian Universalists discussing the faith’s values and core theology over the past four-plus years, delegates at the 2024 Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly voted decisively to approve a new statement of values and beliefs for Unitarian Universalism.
