Livestreamed  at 10:30 am Our Theme of the Month for January is Intersectionality, a term that attempts to capture living with a complex weaving of needs and wants. Today, we will explore creating hope as witnesses, allies, advocates, and activists. 

Our January Share the Plate is Breaking the Chains of Poverty

Breaking the chains of poverty is a career training program administered by the APRI, Pittsburgh Chapter (A. Philip Randolph Institute’s Pittsburgh Chapter) and facilitated in partnership with United Steelworkers, with the goal of promoting living wage careers and union membership for the minority community.  The program is designed to help participants build the skills necessary to obtain a family-sustaining career in the local building and construction trade unions, manufacturing industry, and emerging energy sector.

New UU Statement of Values

Chalice graphicAfter a democratic process involving thousands of Unitarian Universalists discussing the faith’s values and core theology over the past four-plus years, delegates at the 2024 Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly voted decisively to approve a new statement of values and beliefs for Unitarian Universalism. Christmas Eve services

We had two Christmas Eve services exploring the stories around miracles and ending with candles and Silent Night. The 4:30 p.m. service features family favorite music and hymns, and a 7 p.m. service celebrating with the UU Community Singers and a brass trio.  If you missed the services, click here to watch the recording.
