Our finances improved notably compared to last quarter, but are still worse than budget. All numbers are as of the end of September.
Budget, Income and Spending
Our income so far this year was $410,687, 96% of our budget of $427,804. Pledge payments improved and are just slightly worse than budget. However, gifts (operating income donations not associated with a pledge) are down $11,000 from last year, and may not recover. Rentals are also about $1,500 worse than budget. Expenses were $417,693, almost exactly on-budget. Overall, this means we had a net loss of $7,006, substantially improved from last quarter’s net loss, but still ~$17,500 worse than our budgeted net income of $10,812 for this point in the year.
Assets and Liabilities
Asset balances added up to $167,538. This does not include the money in our endowments and other investments. This is about $7,000 lower than last quarter. Total liabilities were $154,671, down $21,000 from last quarter. Overall, we had $12,868 in net assets, which included $7,006 in current year losses and $19,874 in net income from previous years.
2025 Pledges
The Stewardship Committee has started the 2025 pledge process. You should hear from them soon about your rollover pledge. If you’d like to make a pledge that’s higher or lower than your rollover, please let us know at https://www.first-unitarian-pgh.org/pledge or by contacting a Stewardship Committee member. Pledges are one of our most important tools for budgeting. And donations toward pledges are our most important source of revenue for achieving our mission. Thank you in advance for your pledge!
